Shawn B’s Life in P.E.
October 24, 2008
I am in P.E. sitting out
Now I feel nothing but doubt
Just because I didn’t dress out
I didn’t pout
Now I’m missing class and not learning how to pass
It’s the end of P.E. class at last
I think about what I did
I think it’s wrong, too late to turn back, as I think about this song
My conscience is too long
But my teacher’s being mean
I was wearing all red, blue, and green
I’m writing this poem while I’m in school
I feel like a lonely mule
Is being lonely cool?
Is being out of school cool?
The sign in the gym says no drinks, no food
Could we should we be
A school, a prison
You always got to listen
People say I’m lazy
I think they’re crazy!
One more ‘not dressing out’
I got detention so I must listen
Next time I’ll dress out without a doubt
I’m not sitting out.
And that’s a fact; you don’t have to believe
To succeed you got to listen.
Got to get in transmission
So I’m listening
Got on my P’s and Q’s
Now I have something to lose
But I’ve got news
I’m now getting A’s and B’s
But P.E. still gives me the heebee-jeebees!
The year is 2008, and my hope is forever
But never.
