Boot Camp to Beat Cancer/5K

April 24, 2009

Hi!

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Lauren Barry. I am a former graduate of Wakefield and current
volunteer with National Students of AMF, an organization created to
help support college students who have lost a loved one from terminal
illness while away from home.

This summer, on August 15th, our group is entering its 5th annual Boot
Camp to Beat Cancer (BC2BC)/5K and Family Fun Run. I wanted to see if Wakefield may be interested in forming a group to come out a partipate and/or volunteer for this fundraiser.

The boot camp is open to family and friends of all ages and we invite everyone to join in this exercise-based fundraiser. Proceeds from the
event will go towards cancer research and supporting college through programs created by National Students of AMF Support Network. Last year we have over 200 particpants and this year with the addition of the Family Fun Run and 5K, we expect those numbers to increase further.

Involvement will help raise awareness about the benefits of exercise and diet for cancer prevention, raise money for cancer research and establish more college chapters across the nation. Already, the National Students of AMF have empowered grieving college students in
over 21 universities through campus support chapters and are working
with dozens more.

The boot camp stations and 5K that we create are led by college and
professional athletes. These athletes are also part of the work out
groups to help motivate and excite the participants at the fundraiser.

Please let me know if you are intersted in finding out more information, it would be great to have community involvement and a great way to start off your year.

Thank so much!
