The Amazing life of Johnny Depp

August 10, 2008

Life for Johnny Depp had always been hard.  Johnny, a high school dropout had problems with drugs and family.  His life improved when he started acting. He now has a fantastic life with two glorious children.  Johnny Depp once a drug taking high school dropout has now changed his life for the better to participate in movies and children funds.

Johnny Depp had always displayed strange behavior as a child.  Johnny was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Betty Sue, who was a waitress and John Depp who was an engineer.  Johnny Depp was introduced to the electric guitar by his uncle and ever since that he had loved the sound of it.  At age 12, his mother bought him a guitar and he had practiced in his room every day.  Johnny was the youngest of four children including his brother Danny and his two sisters Debbie and Christie.

In high school, Johnny Depp lived in the back of his friend’s car for months to get away from his parents fighting.  He used many drugs and broke into many stores.  But Johnny never stole anything, “I just wanted to see what happened behind those locked doors,” (Johnny Depp).  Johnny was suspended many times and quickly lost interest in school.  He dropped out and formed a band with his friends called “The Kids”.  Soon afterwards though, his mother became very ill.

Johnny Depp worked day shifts at many stores and his band was snuck into clubs and bars at night.  Johnny’s life was falling apart when he realized that he could not keep up with his rent.  His band moved to L.A. but there were too many bands, and he could barely find any spots to play at.  Just as all looked grim in Johnny’s life, his friend introduced him to Nicolas Cage, and his love for acting was born.  Nicolas decided to help Johnny try out for a part on Nightmare on Elm Street.  Johnny made the part of a football player who was eaten by his bed early in the movie.  But Johnny’s love for acting blossomed within the months of his acting.  He also played in a hit T.V. series 21 Jump Street.

After years of acting and starring, Johnny Depp married Venessa Paradis and moved to France.  Two children were born while married to Venessa, Lily-Rose born on 1999 and Jack in 2002.  Over many years, he and his children watched many Disney movies, and Johnny wanted to be in a movie his children could watch.  Johnny figured he would end up as the main character’s voice in an animated film, but Disney had other plans.  Disney was making Pirates of the Caribbean and Johnny Depp was to play the role of Jack Sparrow, a pirate searching for his stolen ship.  He won and academy award for his superb acting, and went off to make another.  He has been in over 20 movies and one T.V. series.  Johnny has gotten a golden award for best actor and the lifetime achievement award for his dedication to the arts.  Johnny Depp, once a drug taking high school dropout has changed his life for the better, to participate in children’s funds and movies around the U.S.

Joke: AT THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE
A gorgeous young redhead goes into the doctor’s
office and said that her body hurt wherever she touched it.
“Impossible!” says the doctor. “Show me.”

         shoulder and screamed, then
she pushed her elbow and screamed even more. She
         pushed her knee and screamed;
likewise she pushed her ankle and screamed.
Everywhere she touched made her scream.
The doctor said, “You’re not really a redhead, are you?
“Well, no” she said, “I’m actually a blonde.”
“I thought so,” the doctor said. “Your finger is broken.”

Six Degrees Could Change The World

March 24, 2008

Actor Alec Baldwin narrates a movie created by National Geographic, which is based on Mark Lynas’ most recent book, “Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet.” The movie also includes many scientists that believe that this theory will come true if the U.S. and many industrial countries continue to pollute and mistreat the environment.

Here are some brief effects of what a single degree can do:

  1. Degree One:
  • The Arctic is ice-free for half the year, opening the “Northwest Passage” for ships
  • Thousands of homes around the Bay of Bengal are flooding
  • Hurricanes begin to hit the South Atlantic
  • Severe droughts in Western U.S. cause shortages in grain and meat markets

2. Degree Two:

  • Changes to the Biosphere are no longer gradual
  • Glaciers in Greenland disappear
  • Polar bears struggle to survive as ice melts
  • Insects migrate in strange places
  • Forests replace Canada’s tundra

3. Degree Three:

  • The Arctic is ice-free all summer
  • The Amazon rain forest is drying out
  • Snow caps on the Alps disappear
  • El Nino’s weather patterns are more severe
  • The Mediterranean and parts of Europe are very hot during the summer
  • Summer heat waves will be the norm

4. Degree Four:

  • Oceans rise and wipe out highly populated deltas
  • Bangladesh, Egypt, and Venice, Italy are underwater
  • Glaciers disappear, depleting the supply of fresh water to millions of people
  • Canada becomes the world’s most agricultural booming zones
  • A Scandinavian beach is now “paradise”
  • The Western Antarctic Ice Sheet could collapse, which could cause even higher rising sea levels

5. Degree Five:

  • Deserts form in once temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere
  • Hundreds of millions of people become climate refugees

6. Degree Six:

  • Oceans become “Marine Wastelands”
  • More deserts spread quickly across continents
  • Natural disasters become common events
  • Some of the world’s greatest cities are flooded and abandoned

Einstein’s Riddle:
Einstein wrote the following riddle. He said that 98% of the world could not solve it. But several NIEHS scientists were able to solve it, and they said it’s not all that hard if you pay attention and are very patient.
Give it a try:
There are 5 houses in 5 different colors in a row. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage. Other facts:
1. The Brit lives in the red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the immediate left of the white house.
5. The green house’s owner drinks coffee.

New Vacation Spots

January 14, 2008

School is very stressful and we all deserve a break. During this winter break there are lads of places to go. Warm, cold, wet, dry it doesn’t matter where you go. Two amazing places to go are Disney World and the North Carolina Mountains.

Disney World is the experience of a lifetime. With rides, animals, and multicultural fun there is nothing else you can ask for. At Disney World there are three main kingdoms, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot which are all loads of fun. There are also many other areas that contain different activities. Disney World is a fantastic experience and everyone should go there at least once in their life.

The Mountains of North Carolina are very beautiful and hold many mysteries. You can drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, visit blowing rock, and hike up a mountain. You can also go skiing or snowboarding in the fluffy white snow. There are many wonders in the mountains to enjoy.

I loved going to both of these places and would like to go there anytime. These are just two good places to explore, but there are also many more places with other adventures
